One good word of advise though, is to avoid soaps that has the tendency to dry the skin and one good suggestion for cleaning facial skin is a cream -based cleanser for dry skin and a cleanser made without oil for those with oily skin types.
Step two is exfoliation, which is the process by which the dead skin cells on the surface or the top layer of the skin are removed through a gentle skin abrasion process with the use of natural or synthetic –based cleansers. This process effectively helps in rejuvenating new skin cells and providing for good and hygienic conditions for which skin cells regenerate.

Correct Skin Care For Every Skin Type
Taking care of the skin starts with knowing your skin type, because ultimately, this will determine the proper skin care routine you should take on and the types of products that best complement your skin. Skin types are categorized into four: normal, dry, oily, and combination. Following are descriptions of each of the types and suggestions on how to care for them.
Normal
Blessed are those with normal skin because this type is the least problematic of all. One, it looks fresh and supple even after midday. Two, it is smooth and has even complexion. Three, although pores are visible, they are not large enough. Clogged pores are also not a problem, which is why, four, zits and breakouts are rare occurrences. And five, normal skin requires minimal care and maintenance.
Simple facial cleanser does well on normal skin. The best cleansers for normal skin are those without alcohol. Although normal skin naturally has the right level of moisture, moisturizers are still a must, which preferably should have UV protection and antioxidant properties. Normal skin rarely develops skin problems, but care should still be observed when choosing skin care products and cosmetics. It is best to use the products with mild and, if possible, organic ingredients.
Dry
Two things that are good about dry skin are that breakouts and blemishes are rare and that pores are too tiny and not visible. But it can also be problematic, as it tends to be dull, flaky, and sometimes rough. Wrinkles and fine lines may also be evident among people with dry skin.
The culprit would be that lack in moisture. There are various reasons for this. One is the weather. Windy, cold, and dry weathers can strip off the body’s natural moisture and inflict negative effects on the skin. Another is age. As a person grows older, his ability to produce and retain moisture weakens. Excessive sun exposure, use of harsh skin care products, and genetics are also possible reasons for having dry skin.
Dry skin calls for special care using products that aim at keeping the moisture sealed into the skin. People with dry skin should steer clear of products with alcohol since alcohol can further cause dryness. Instead, use of products with glycerin, petroleum, lactic acid, and lanolin is encouraged. Moisturizers are also necessary in making dry skin supple. Those with vitamin E and are oil-based are good moisturizers for dry skin. Use of cosmetics with moisturizing properties is also recommended.
Oily
Oily skin has big and visible pores, has coarse texture, and ends up always shiny. It is also more prone to clogged pores, leading to breakouts and acne. Oily skin results from too much production of sebum, the skin’s natural oil, so maintenance should be directed at keeping oil at a normal level.
The use of cleansers with tough cleansing properties is necessary for oily skin care. However, harsh products should never be used because they are likely to cause the sebaceous glands to produce more oil, therefore complicating the problem.
Some skin experts recommend the use of products with salicylic acid and antibacterial ingredients. Exfoliation, at least once a week, benefits people with oily skin, as this removes dead skin cells that may clog the pores. Moisturizing oily skin is still necessary to re-hydrate the skin after a thorough cleansing, but moisturizers should particularly be oil-free and light. Other skin care products and cosmetics also need to be labeled oil-free, non-comedogenic, or non-acnegenic.
Combination
Most women have this skin type. The T-zone, which constitutes the forehead, nose, and chin, is oily, while the cheeks and areas around the eyes are dry. The T-zone is often the area of blemishes. When washing, some parts of the face may feel tight and taut.
Because of this, proper skin care for combination skin is a little tricky as it has to address both oiliness and dryness. Fortunately, skin care products for combination skin type are now available. Cleansers for combination skin should be mild, but should thoroughly remove dirt and excess oil especially from the T-zone. Use of toner is also recommended to further clean the T-zone and keep it shine-free. Moisturizers, on the other hand, must be oil-based and applied in minimal amount on oily areas.

Skin Care & Food
You are what you eat, as many would say, and surely, whatever you eat, shows in the appearance of your skin, thus, it is important to know the importance of correlating food and skin care.
Millions of people all over the world suffer from the most common food –related disorder known to modern man today, which is obesity and science has indeed proven time and again that the food we eat is shown on the appearance of our skin.
Take for example the visible signs of obesity aside from the obvious appearance of someone being overweight, but observe closely and see that the skin also shows signs of the disorder.
One would be the darkening of skin areas on skin folds all over the body, most especially the neck area, underarms, elbows, knees and nose.
For some, it also shows on both sides of the lips and eyelids, sometimes even around the eye sockets.
These skin darkening processes are the results of obesity in the body and no amount of skin care or cleansing can remove these, unless there is a change in lifestyle, like food intake and eating habits.
Dieting, however, remains one of the most daunting tasks ever and unless this is overcome by the need to ensure a healthy lifestyle, one can see and notice the effects – both for skin care and a healthy way of life.
How can this be achieved? You actually have the right answer to your problem and this can be best answered by you.
However, here are some tips that can help you keep on going.
First, try to establish a diet program partner for your regimen or a support group to keep you motivated.
Pursuing a diet regimen by your lonesome is generally a task that could only lead to your diet program going down the drain, since you lack the direct support of a peer to motivate or push you to succeed.
You can do this with a friend or a family member who shares the same desire to achieve an outcome for both your diet and skin care regimen, since it is best to have someone help you monitor your diet program development.
Feedback and motivational support can help you move on and keep you challenged to finish your diet regimen program.
Try to add some fun into our diet and skin regimen program, this will help you have a more enjoyable program that you could keep on sustaining until you achieve your desired results, rather than a diet program that causes you to suffer or have misgivings about what you may have given up to pursue your diet regimen or skin care program.
Lastly, couple your diet program with a supplementary exercise pattern. Physical activity is still the best way to help you hasten your diet regimen, since you get to burn more calories, because as you lose weight, your skin does not immediately take on the shape of the pounds you lost and if your skin is not conditioned in the same way you lost weight, it will retain it’s shape and mill result to sagging.
Always get expert advise or opinion from your physician or nutrition expert, they can provide you with vital information on what diet program you could subscribe to that could suit you best, as well as a fitness and skin care expert to help you complement your skin structure therapy as well.
Always be careful when you want to go pursue a diet regimen, it pays to know what is best and save yourself the trouble of regretting something that you would not expect to happen to you.
This is how food and skin care are both important considerations to maintaining a healthy way of life and can surely give you the satisfaction of how you feel better and at the prime of your health.

Daily Skin Care To Reduce Signs Of Aging
Experts in the beauty industry say that there are actually two effective ways of skin care to the aging skin: first is the artificial means and the natural means. The former can be done through plastic surgeries and through the use of products that contain chemicals that are believed to minimize the signs of aging and the latter would include measures to living a healthy lifestyle.
More and more people prefer the artificial means because it is an easy remedy to aging. They encourage people to take natural means as possible because if these are done and followed properly, they can have a lasting effect on the person's appearance and over all health and well being.
Experts say that natural skin regimen is the best way to achieve a long lasting, healthy skin. This might include having a balanced and healthy diet and developing a regular work out, exercise or physical activities to keep the blood circulate freely. This can also be possible by stopping smoking cigarettes; veering away from stressful events; finding ample time to sleep; being well hydrated through lots of fluids especially water and by keeping a positive outlook in life.
Why Skin Care Is Important
To avoid the early signs of aging, proper skin care should be an essential part of every person's life. The first step in taking care of skin is to know what type of skin you possess. Dermatologists—professionals who are experts on skin and skin care and treatment—categorize skin types into four that include dry, oily, normal, and combination.
If there's a tight or rough feel of the skin, you should pay more attention to the way you treat your skin because this is an indicator of dry skin—the most common contributor of ugly skin. This is characterized by the presence of flakes and scales as well as redness and itchiness of the skin. Experts say that is if you have dry skin, it is a must that you avoid washing it with hot water. It is also a must that you stay away from using harsh or strong soaps and alcohol-based skin products to avoid skin irritation.
Then, the next type is the oily skin that is characterized by shiny appearance and large pores on the skin's surface that makes it prone to acne. People who have oily skin should shun away from too much scrubbing that can cause more pimple breakout. It is also advisable that they use non-comedogenic skin products to maintain a healthy skin.
On the other hand, normal skin is characterized by healthy glow. It doesn’t have redness or large pores. People who have normal skin type should use skin care products that help maintain the natural water balance of their skin.
Last effective skin care would be the combination skin that has dry and oily areas. Oily sections usually include the T-zone (the forehead, nose, and chin), while cheeks remain less oily. People with combination skin must use products that are specifically developed for this skin type in order to avoid over-drying that can cause redness, itchiness, or any irritation.

Last is chemical peel, which is a process supervised and administered by a dermatologist or licensed skin therapist, which provides better results compared to over –the- counter chemical peel treatment kits.

The Important Role of the Sun in Skin Care
Many people believe that the sun is a good contributor to ensuring good skin, but always be wary that the role of the sun in skin care can only be limited in ways that it actually can do more harm than good when one is not guided accordingly.
Vitamin D from the sun can be helpful for many, but it can only be left to that since we all know that we actually need to protect our skin from the sun's harmful rays, especially from prolonged ultraviolet radiation.
Here are some tips to make good use of sun exposure and avoid the dangers of getting too much of it.
Always make it a point to wear sunscreen formulated with a sun protection factor (SPF) of no less than 15, regardless if the weather is cloudy or not wanting to spend a lot of time outdoors, since this will help keep your body filter out ultraviolet rays that can be reflected on the earth’s surface.
Make sure to also reapply sunscreen every 2 to 3 hours if you plan to go swimming or get involved in sports activities. Same goes even for sunscreen that is labeled waterproof. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
Also look for sunscreen that blocks both UVA and UVB rays, especially those labeled with "broad spectrum protection" or UVA protection for formulation with an SPF of 15 or greater.
Select a sunscreen that is labeled "nonacnegenic" or "noncomedogenic" to help keep pores clear and also prevents the skin from having pimples or acne.
If possible, stay away from the sun between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, which are the times of the day when the sun happens to be the hottest.
If staying indoors is unavoidable during these times, make sure to reapply sunscreen frequently and take indoor breaks every so often if you can.
One good tip in knowing when it is safer to be under the sun is when your shadow is longer than you are tall, but continue to wear sunscreen just to be safe.
Take note to apply more sunscreen with higher SPF when around reflective surfaces like ice, snow or water, since it intensifies the heat, as well as the ultraviolet radiation of the sun.
Some medications, like prescription acne treatments or birth control pills can increase a person’s sensitivity to the sun, so make sure to ask your doctor if you are taking any or both of these treatments, as well as increasing the SPF of the sunscreen to use when exposed to the sun.
If you want the glow of a tan, try to fake it with self-tanners or salon tanning treatments to avoid the risk of getting harmful ultraviolet radiation. You may also want to avoid tanning beds, although manufacturers claim that tanning beds are free of UVB rays, they still use ultraviolet radiation that could also be harmful to the skin.
Never ever consider applying sunscreen on your exposed skin to be wasteful, since the cost of getting skin disease costs much more than several tubes of sunscreen.
Always make sure to give careful attention to children and do not hesitate to apply sunscreen on them, even double the frequency as you do on yourself. Children have more sensitive skin than adults and need it more than we do.
To avoid the risk of getting over exposed you may resort to going on a healthy diet that includes vitamin supplements, especially vitamin D and can be sourced from foods like dairy products, fish, oysters or fortified cereals.
Lastly, make sure to always go to a dermatologist whenever you feel something wrong in your skin, since skin cancer is very treatable when discovered early.
So make the most of the information provided in this article and understand the role of the sun in skin care.

Proper Skin Care Can Prevent Pimples
One of the most annoying problems adolescents and adults often face is the problem of pimples or acne, but with a good idea about how to prevent or minimize the effects, be on the know about skin care to prevent pimples.
Many people often get frustrated upon seeing that much- dreaded zit right smack in your face or a cold sore at the corner of your mouth as you wake up one morning, most especially when it appears during an important appointment or meeting about to take place.
But fret no more, since there are practical and effective ways to prevent a pimple from coming out and making your day.
Pimples occur when the skin pores are clogged with a oil called sebum, which is normally secreted by the skin to lubricate the hair and skin.
This is prevalent especially among adolescents as they enter puberty where hormones tend to overproduce sebum.
It is the face that is often suspectible to this condition since the face especially the forehead, cheeks nose and chin where many of the sebaceous glands producing sebum are found.
However, there are ways to prevent, better yet, avoid pimples from occurring or breaking out and here are some of the most common yet practical ways to prevent pimples or acne from breaking out.
Wash the face twice a day, most especially if you have just been subjected to dust and grime by using a mild soap and warm water.
Make sure to gently massage the face with circular motions and do not attempt to scrub, since scrubbing or even overwashing can irritate or damage the skin.
To further prevent pimples from coming back, also apply an over the counter topical ointment or cream with benzoyl peroxide, which will help decrease skin oil and bacteria.
Do not pop or squeeze out the pimple, no matter how tempting or irresistible it may seem, since it will only serve to cause more harm than good.
Popping a pimple will only tend to drive infected sebum deeper into the pore and result further in redness, swelling and even worse, scarring. If you feel the need to have it removed, see a dermatologist who can better get rid of it for you without the fear of getting infected or scarred.
Always avoid touching the face with your bare fingers, especially without sanitizing or washing your hands thoroughly, or allowing the face to come in direct contact with objects that would tend to collect sebum from other people, like the handset of a telephone or borrowing a facial towel, since it may cause your pimples or acne to become more irritated or infected.
If you often wear sunglasses or eyeglasses, make sure to keep it clean all the time, most especially parts of the eyewear that come into contact with the skin, since it could collect sebum that would aggravate pimples or acne.
For people who get acne on parts of their body, make sure to avoid wearing tight-fitting clothes that prevent your skin from breathing, thus further causing more infection. Also avoid wearing scarves, caps, headbands and any piece of clothing that would prevent the skin from breathing and may collect oil or dirt.
Always make it a point to remove makeup before going to sleep. Look for makeup products that are labeled "noncomedogenic" or "nonacnegenic" since these are formulated to prevent pimples. Don’t hesitate to throw away old makeup that smells or looks different from when it was first bought.
Always keep hair clean and away from making contact with the face to prevent dirt and oil from clogging the pores.
Lastly, protect the skin from the sun. Although many believe that a tan can conceal acne, it's but temporary and may even cause the body to produce extra sebum. Worse, too much exposure to the sun can increase the risk of getting skin cancer.
Always be on the winning edge in the war against acne and it does not take much to know these tips on skin care to prevent pimples.

Healthy Dieting & Proper Skin Care
It is simply an eating lifestyle that balances the body's weight, getting the correct nourishment and also ensures one of having healthy skin, which gives us the idea that skin care and healthy dieting must complement each other.
Healthy dieting plays an important factor in determining your overall health condition, and when coupled with physical activity, a diet regimen is a factor in establishing a balanced weight level and key to ensuring that you are incorporating your skin care routines and maximizing it’s effects.
One of the major reasons why people go on a diet is due to obesity, which increases the risk for cardio-vascular disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, kidney and liver problems, among many others, especially with skin care practice, since many internal organ conditions are mirrored on skin appearance and conditions, based on many research studies
One of the most glaring of which is how the skin appears dull or have dark spots, especially along the folds of the skin for obese or overweight individuals, with some also having dark areas on the nose, neck, elbows and knees.
These are alarming health risks that require one to go on a diet, not just for aesthetic purposes, but also for helping ensure that you are taking good care of your health.
But going through a healthy diet regimen can be a surmountable, even very difficult, task for many and it is important to get expert opinion on how to go about a healthy diet for optimal results.
Common pitfalls that accompany dieting is lack of time for food preparation, random food selections, food starvation or deprivation, skipping meals, diet medication and incorrect diet practices, which as we go back again, can be visible on skin appearance like wrinkled or loose skin, withered appearance, skin darkening and skin eruptions, among many others.
Healthy dieting should not be a difficult task, since it is not hard to seek expert or medical guidance on getting the proper nutritional information.
Try making use of the tons of nutritional information you find on food labels, since this will give you first-hand information about the nutritional values of the foods you include in your diet.
Today’s technology allows us to break down components found in food and identifying each element and their corresponding values for nutrition, as well as allowing us to know how much we need to ensure we get balanced nutrition from these food groups.
Do not hesitate to subscribe to natural means of nutritional sourcing.
Fortified nutritional health supplements derived from fruit or vegetable extracts compared to synthetic vitamin or mineral sources provide better chances of you getting the right and natural source of nutrition.
You guarantee yourself with less risk from adverse effects with natural supplements compared to synthetic ones made from chemicals or artificial sources.
Condition yourself to follow through on your diet regimen and be motivated to follow it through positive feedbacking, since a hastily crafted diet regimen and a half-hearted decision to pursue a diet program could only last you a couple of weeks, or even just days.
Thus, long-term planning and a dogged determination to push through with a diet regimen is a vital key to a successful and healthy diet program.
Now the you see the correlation between skin care and healthy dieting, it is simply making sure that achieving optimal results with these two processes can surely not just work for the reason of making one look beautiful, but also enhance the quality of life.

Natural Skin Care: Why & How
This is exactly the age when skin products, which unfortunately can be hardly distinguishable from one another, are being introduced here and there. And they can really be confusing. If you find yourself overwhelmed by the myriad of products that essentially promise nothing but the old story, here’s the good news. Having a perfect skin does not primarily depend on these skin products, because, in this going-for-green phase of human history, natural skin care beats them all.
Going natural is still the best way to having a youthful and radiant skin. Not only is it healthy, it is also cheap. Not only does it benefit your skin, it is also advantageous to your entire body. And not only is it momentary, it can work for a longer duration. After hitching into the hype about skin care products, now is the time to bend your view about skin care a little bit, and getting a few suggestions on natural skin care is a good way to jumpstart.
1. Watch your diet. Remember the adage, “You are what you eat?” This speaks volume about skin care. Keep in mind that a good and healthy diet translates to an equally healthy skin. If you are troubled with unusual breakouts, dryness, and rough skin, ask yourself what you have been eating. Maybe you need to make a few changes in your diet. A good diet consists of foods rich in fiber; such as grains, legumes, and beans; and healthy fats; like flaxseed oil, walnut oil, and omega-3 fish. It also has fruits and vegetables high in vitamins such as vitamins A, B, B2, and E; fiber; calcium; iodine; and protein. Less sugar should also be included in the diet, as excess sugar is linked to premature aging. It is generally understood that changing diet is not an easy task, but take baby steps first. If you’ve gotten the hang of it, things will be a lot easier.
2. Hydrate. Drinking lots of water, preferably six to eight glasses, replenishes the body and helps wash out waste and toxins. It also prevents skin dryness. The common observation from people with acne, psoriasis, and other skin problems is that they also suffer from constipation, a telltale sign of low water intake.
3. Have a regular exercise. If you spend most of the day sitting or with few body activities, you are likely to subject yourself to skin problems such as acne and cellulite. Of course, this is not so appealing. So if you can, enroll in a gym. Or if time and money are an issue, allot at least five minutes of exercise or stretching before going to work. Get a quick office break and do some walking. Bottom line is, do anything you can to get your body moving. You don’t want simple inactivity to ruin your skin, do you?
4. Make your own skin care products. Whip up your own facial mask, cleanser, toner, or any other skin essential from the comforts of your own kitchen. Doing so can save you some amount from buying skin products, and, at the same time, give you your share of peace by knowing what goes into that thing you put on your face. This is natural skin care in the literal sense of the term.

Important Skin Care Basics
Being the largest, not to mention most exposed, organ of the body, the skin offers many telling details about a person’s identity—from one’s lifestyle to choice of products. This is why the skin has been subject to frequent, sometimes intentional, scrutiny. And for fear of failing the test, a lot of people have paid much closer attention to the skin. This is purely normal; in fact, proper skin care should be in the mind of every individual. This doesn’t mean, however, incorporating complex skin care routine in daily itineraries, because practicing skin care basics should do well enough.
Here are the four basics of skin care. Do them with regularity and your skin will look as radiant and young as you want it to.
1. Cleanse. A healthy skin is a clean skin, so regularly cleanse your skin with a compatible facial cleanser. A good cleanser removes dirt, excess oil, and germs, while being gentle on the skin. When choosing a cleanser, consider your type of skin and be extra critical. Some cleansers come in the form of soaps, others in liquid form. There are beauty experts who prefer using liquid cleansers since they believe soaps can strip off moisture from the skin and leave it dry. However, this is an issue of personal preference. Should you be more comfortable using soap, it’s okay. But be sure to choose mild soaps.
TIP: Do not over-wash your skin because it will do your skin more harm than good. At the most, wash your face twice—morning and night. Some people prefer to wash with only lukewarm water in the morning, and use cleanser at night. Again, whether you omit the cleanser from your morning routine is an issue of preference.
2. Moisturize. The goal of moisturizers is to keep moisture locked into the skin, preventing it to be dry, flaky, and cracked. Every skin type needs to be moisturized, even the oily skin. Good thing is, there are specially designed moisturizers for each skin type.
TIP: Because of the advanced science, moisturizers today are a far cry from their early counterparts, which used to be only made of water and wax mixtures. Nowadays, there are ingredients that replenish natural oil and help with exfoliation, such as glycerol, ceramides, and hydroxyl acids. Look for these ingredients when choosing a moisturizer.
3. Exfoliate. Few people know that exfoliation is as important as cleansing the skin and so leave it out from their routine. This should not be the case. Skin exfoliation at least once a week is necessary to remove dead skin cells that cause blackheads, whiteheads, and pimples. With regular exfoliation, the skin is smooth and radiant.
TIP: Facial scrubs have potent exfoliation properties, which is why many skin care manufacturers are now producing their own scrub products. But because there are a lot of options in the market, it pays to be a little critical. When looking for a facial scrub, choose the one with small grains. This is proven to work more gently on the skin.
4. Sun-protect. A lifetime of sun exposure causes most of the skin damages, and usually these damages, which include wrinkles, dark spots, uneven skin, and dryness, appear later in life. But because they tend to manifest slowly, these damages are all too often ignored. Protect your skin from the sun, particularly from the damaging UV rays, early on and use sunscreen protection.
TIP: When you don’t apply sunscreen, your efforts of practicing the other skin care basics are all in vain. So start investing on sunscreen and choose those products with SPF 15 or more. For more protection, apply sunscreen 20 minutes before going out and reapply when necessary.

Poor Skin Care Will Lead To Skin Problems
Skin problems are the most common reasons why many people have ugly skin. Because of unhealthy habits, more and more people are not even aware that they have skin problems that greatly contribute to their deteriorating skin.
These days, many people are not aware that the normal pimple—which has a life cycle of six to eight weeks—can lead to a skin illness without serious treatment. What is worst is that they don’t know that if the normal skin problem such as pimples can develop into a severe condition like acne that would require more time to heal and may cause pain due to heavy peeling and would eventually leave ugly and uneven acne scars.
Solving Simple Skin Problems Through Effective Products
If your skin problems such as pimples are taking too long to heal and are spreading all over your face and neck, then you should be visiting your dermatologist so he or she can give you effective skin care treatment products as early as now.
Pimples is only among the most common skin problems that people—young and old—have to deal with today. Being a skin disorder usually caused by irritated blackheads and whiteheads, the development of acne becomes more and more difficult to cure if the infection is neglected and left untreated. This neglect can even cause further irritation and may eventually lead to the production of abscess.
Since prevention is the best treatment to any impending injury or disaster, finding a good line of skin care products now can be an effective way to control your growing problem. Skin care treatment products that have antibiotics have been long known as effective solution in treating moderate to severe and persistent skin conditions like pimples. Oral treatments include products that contain tetracycline, erythromycin, minocycline and doxycycline can also be effective when used or administered properly.
Most people consider topical medication or treatments through creams and surgery as other option in treating skin problem. One of the most common acne skin care treatment products is cream because dermatologists recommend this as an effective treatment product since the skin quickly absorbs it. But, before you purchase any cream, consider these helpful tips:
- Choose creams that are derived from natural substances and sources because these can even help you get rid of skin problems without too much acne scarring.
- Always check the label. Make sure that the skin care cream that you plan to buy is hypoallergenic and can be used by children or pregnant women without enduring any pain or discomfort. Knowing the ingredients used in the product will ensure that the cream has balanced formulation to deliver effective results.
- Research. By doing a little research on how the formulation and content of these creams, you can help cure the skin infection faster.
- Observe. When you monitor how your skin reacts to the skin care treatment product carefully, you can ensure that you are using a safe product. It is ideal to do this after the initial application and take note of the visible changes so you can avoid possible side effects or allergies.

Eat Your Way Toward Healthy Skin
People have this common belief that using a mishmash of skin products will automatically give them radiant-looking skin, and so when the skin remains as dull and problematic as they were before being treated with all sorts of creams and lotions, these same people end up disappointed. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with using skin products, but proper skin care goes beyond that. Whatever is put on the skin is as equally important as what is taken in. In other words, skin products can’t, even in the age of advanced science, beautify the skin all on their own; taking care of skin health primarily starts with eating the right foods for skin care.
However, this elementary principle is all too often ignored, and the result is people stashing skin care items with little thought about what comes in their refrigerators. A good diet benefits the skin in more ways than one; and there’s no substitute for it.
If you’re one of those who tend to overlook your diet, it’s time to rethink. Good thing is, there’s always a chance to make a good start. And you can do this by knowing what foods are exactly beneficial to the skin. Here’s a quick rundown:
Omega-3 rich fish
This includes salmon, mackerel, tuna, and other oily fish. Other than benefiting the heart, omega-3 fatty acid is good for the skin. Omega-3 strengthens cell membranes, and consequently makes the cells hydrated and replenished. This results in appropriate level of moisture. When there is enough moisture, the skin remains smooth and supple, has improved elasticity, and has healthy pores.
Carrots
Carrots are a potent source of beta-carotene and vitamin C. Once absorbed by the body, beta-carotene is converted into vitamin A that helps in making skin cells and keeping them replenished and healthy. If there is not enough vitamin A, the skin is dry and flaky. Vitamin C, on the other hand, has potent antioxidant properties and helps in collagen formation. Sufficient amount of vitamin C in the body keeps the skin young-looking and fresh.
Sweet potatoes
Also an excellent source of vitamin C and beta-carotene, sweet potatoes are rich in vitamin E, another good antioxidant and anti-aging. Vitamin E works to regenerate vitamin C, therefore allowing it to work in its maximum potential.
Green Tea
Famous for its many benefits, green tea has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and is rich in calcium, zinc, magnesium, riboflavin, and vitamins C, D, and K. Green tea is also believed to protect the skin from the harmful effects of the sun’s UV rays, and so helps prevent cancer. But not only is green tea good for the skin, it is also good for the entire body.
Whole Grains
Whole grains are excellent source of B group vitamins. These are essential to the skin because they aid in replacing dead skin cells and developing new ones. They also naturally protect the skin from infections.
Now that you know some of the foods for skin care, it is only necessary to incorporate them in your daily diet. Remember that deficiency in some of the vitamins and minerals can lead to premature skin aging, dryness, and other skin problems such as eczema.

Basic Skin Care for Teens: Face Washing
If you are a parent with adolescents or teenagers in the house, you need to understand and also be aware of skin care for your kids and what better way than to impart to them the simplest method of face washing as basic skin care for your teens.
Surprised? Actually it is by understanding the fact that as children enter adolescence, they still have sensitive skin that requires delicate and constant care for them to have healthy skin.
Many parents usually worry over the prospect of their teenagers having problems with acne or oily skin, however, it is best to know how to deal with each possible skin problem teenagers are likely to encounter.
Probably one of the most common factor that leads to parents worrying over their children’s skin problems is knowing that as teenagers, they are already independent of washing and bathing themselves, wherein parents no longer have the idea of how their kids go about their skin care routines.
Are they simply using water to wash their faces? Or probably using your facial skin toners or cleansers or use bar soaps to wash their faces?
These things need to be carefully considered and corrected since this could lead to more harm than good if the incorrect method is not corrected right away.
Out of the three mentioned routines earlier, washing the face with water is the safest process of all, while the remaining two could prove harmful to your teenager.
Do remember that since adolescent skin is still sensitive, the appearance of acne does not conclusively indicate that your child’s face is really dirty, but is just a result of their skin’s sensitivity.
Also, adult facial cleansing formulas could also be too harsh for their sensitive skin and should also be avoided.
Using acne removal treatments could only lead to aggravating the problem or even do more damage to your child’s skin regeneration process.
Essentially, skin or face washing habits for adolescents should be limited to once a day since anything in excess of that can be damaging to their skin.
Parents, and teenagers as well, must be aware that adolescents should only be using gentle cleansers on their skin, for which the best choices are those made of natural or water based cleansers and cream-based cleansers that not only cleans but moisturizes skin as well.
Face cleansing should ideally be done once a day, as mentioned earlier, unless your teens are active in after –school sport or outdoor activities, where intense sweating or exposure to dust and grime are part of the activity.
Also avoid letting your kids use body lotion on their faces, if they feel that their skin needs moisturizing, since the skin from the neck up is more sensitive and requires delicate attention, most especially since majority of body lotions available in the market contain certain ingredients that can cause reactions on facial skin.
It is a rare fact for teenagers to worry about moisturizing their skin, but if the skin starts to become extra dry, a gentle water-based moisturizer would do.
You can ask a dermatologist or a licensed skin care expert for products that can be helpful for skin teenager’s skin conditions.
In a nutshell, skin care for adolescents should just be more of simply clearing the dirt or grime from the topmost layer of the skin and to ensure good skin care habits, like face washing as basic skin care for teens, is by instilling in them the responsibility and awareness of what needs to be done and what should not.

Importance of Healthy Food for Healthy Skin
More and more people these days are neglecting proper skin care due to busy schedules. In fact, good skin care habits are not the only ones affected by their overall health as well. Because of busy schedule, many people resort to alternatives means of skin care well in fact, all they could do to maintain healthy skin is to eat well.
Experts say that eating healthy foods is one of the major keys in combating unhealthy skin caused by toxicity that modern life brings. This is because it makes people aware that they should be more careful in watching their total health and well-being. It also reminds people that nothing beats the advantages of going back to basics.
These days, with the growing numbers of people who suffer from different skin problems, people should be more vigilant in keeping up with a healthy lifestyle by eating healthy foods. This is very important not only to ensure good skin but also to maintain overall health.
Good Food To Good Skin
Time and again, nutrition experts say that there are two major keys that lead to good skin—these include eating the right amount of food depending on the person’s need and lifestyle and eating a range of foods to ensure that the person gets balanced diet.
And since food and eating properly contribute so much to a healthy diet, people should focus more on considering the food their body needs especially on a diet. Experts remind that diet foods should contain the necessary vitamins and minerals that are quite essential for weight control and metabolism. These diet foods should include Vitamins B2, B3, B5, B6, Vitamin C, choline, inositol, chromium, manganese, and zinc.
Studies show that the perfect foods that help people achieve healthy skin should include a wide range of fruits. Aside from being an all-natural product, fruits are low in calories, rich in dietary fiber that helps boosts satiety, and satisfies a person’s sweet tooth without worrying about weight gain. Containing all the nutrients and vitamins it has, fruits are an ideal diet food for those who are into losing weight or weight reduction and those who are striving to maintain their weight. Other nutritional benefits of fruit include the prevention of vitamin deficiency, a rich source of dietary fiber and rich in folate.
Just like fruits, vegetables are also considered perfect foods especially for those who are having problems in maintaining good skin care regimen. Aside from being low in calorie-content, high in dietary fiber, and full of dietary nutrients that help maintain efficient metabolism, veggies—in various preparations—also make good and appetizing snacks. Aside from being a rich source of important vitamins and minerals such as vitamin B-complex micronutrients, vitamins C, E and K that combat vitamin deficiency, vegetables are also excellent sources of the protective plant micronutrient called “phytochemicals.”
Having vegetables as diet food also lowers the risk of heart disease, cancers, and high blood pressure while protecting the body from having illnesses caused by muscle degeneration.

Delay The Signs of Aging Through Correct Skin Care
Aging is an inevitable process all creations go through. In fact, the aging process is considered natural cycle that everything and everyone must face. But the signs of aging can be delayed or can be hidden through proper skin care.
The skin is the most affected area when a person ages. When a person ages, the skin loses its elasticity that is why wrinkles and fine lines start to appear especially on the face, neck, and hands. Today, the most common solution people find is by developing healthy skin care regimen and through the use of anti-aging products that can minimize—if not eliminate—the signs of aging. These anti-aging products are marketed and advertised to encourage people to control the early signs of aging such as wrinkles, crow's feet, and other visible fine lines.
External Factors That Affect Aging
Before finally deciding whether to use these products or not, you must first know the external factors that greatly contribute to aging in order to avoid them. Here are the major external factors that cause aging and skin aging, it is up to you how to avoid these in order to maintain a young looking and vibrant skin.
1. The sun. This is the major external factor that caused aging. Experts say that aging caused by overexposure to the sun's ultra violet rays is called "photo-aging." In this process, the sun's rays breaks down the collagen and elastin in the person's skin that lead to the development of premature wrinkles and other facial lines. You can protect yourself from the harmful rays of the sun by applying sun blocks and sun screens that has high SPF content. You can also wear proper articles of clothing that help protect your skin from the damaging rays and by lessening the time you spent outdoors especially when the sun is its peak hours.
2. The gravity. Science tells us that gravity pulls everything towards the earth. As people age, the effect of gravity becomes visible on the skin and affects its elasticity a lot.
3. Excessive smoking. Nicotine indeed plays a big role in skin's aging. Studies show that smokers form lines and wrinkles sooner compared to those who do not smoke. Skin is affected by nicotine because it narrows the blood vessels in the outer layers of the person's skin that is responsible for the reduction of blood and nutrients flow.
4. Several facial expressions. People have a lot of facial expressions. These expressions are quite inevitable depending on the situation they are in. Since facial muscles are used when people make facial expressions, this can lead to the formation of lines in the face and neck.
5. The sleeping position. Although it may sound absurd, improper sleeping position contributes a lot to aging of the skin because it results to the visibility of wrinkles. A good skin care habit should include adopting a sleeping position that can veer you away from forming lines on the face or even on your body.
